Jeollanamdo: Trippin' to the Korean countryside

Just got back from a 2D1N trip to Jeollanamdo for only 10,000won!! Whoop whoop it was a tour organized by KORAIL. Basically, it's government sponsored that's why it's so cheap.

My first time out into the Korean countryside!! Daegu didn't count since it was essentially a city. Signed up for it with the impression that it would be an English-speaking tour but it ended up conducted in Korean/Chinese?! WTF expression right here ha ha ha but yeah anyway. There were loads of Chinese-speaking students/people on the tour so we ended up being translators for the minority who couldn't speak Chinese (there were about 5). All because we're from Singapore...

But the thing is we have super poor command of Chinese lol. Joke. Had such a hard time talking to this guy from China who studies at Shandong University and is on exchange to a university at Suwon! Gah, I think it's harder to understand their Chinese as compared to Taiwanese Chinese? Lol just my opinion. They seem to have super a lot of specific terms that I've never come across before because we tend to speak conversational/Singapore kind of Chinese hahaha

Anyway we went to Namdo Food Festival (struggled cos we didn't know much Korean) and well the food was just okay but it was an interesting place, it being a traditional kind of village? 민박춘, I think. You can see from the photos how the roofs are constructed!

Photos from the Food Festival, taken by my Olympus Pen!! Some photos, basically panoramas mostly, are from my iPhone though! I think the quality difference is pretty obvious haha (Photos from my camera are finally making their debut lol)

SUPER CUTE kids enacting the punishment process/apparatus hahahaha

Found a rice paddy field hehehe my dream field~

Scarecrow LOL

Afterwards we headed off to the green tea terraces (녹차밭) at Bo-Seong (보성)! It was really pretty I really loved that place haha we even climbed to the top so that we could see the sea~ And thank goodness for good weather cos it wouldn't be visible if there was rain, cloudy weather or fog!!

Hehe miniature effect from my camera!! I luv my camera so much lol

View of the sea!!

Then we headed off to our accommodation which was this resort that was in the middle of NOWHERE. Freaking ulu place I tell you.

End of Day 1. Hahaha the next day we woke up early and went to this dinosaur fossil track site. No idea how real it is honestly. I could hardly see the footprints in the fossil track site but there were lots of flowers so I could continue my "I want to be a flower" series lol (at part 3 now) - if you follow me on Instagram you would know!

Can you see the dinosaur tracks? Lol

"I want to be a flower part III."

Then we headed back to the Namdo Food Festival lawllllll but this time we climbed to the top of the village (there was a tiny hill) and we could see the view from above~

Oh and we ate raw clams for lunch. Thank goodness my stomach's still holding up haha

LOL I JUST REALIZED THE RAW CLAMS AREN'T IN THE PHOTO LOL #loser

Afterwards we headed to Suncheon Bay Garden to see "Fields of Gold" - basically it's just reeds hahaha but it was really pretty!! Speed walked up to Mt. Yongsan Observatory (HAH that's another mini mountain right there) and had a view from above~ Really spectacular. Too bad there wasn't enough time to have a look at the beach sigh

Afterwards it was back to Seoul~ Agonizing 4 plus hours bus ride hahaha

Interesting trip although it was agonizing conversing in Chinese haha. I really regret not speaking more when I was younger/in Singapore because now I have problems expressing myself in Chinese - in particular to the China people. Feel like this problem wasn't that apparent in Singapore where I'm surrounded by others who are similar in terms of our speaking ability? Hahaha I would catch myself saying "Then 那个......" etc lol a mix of Chinese and English.

10,000won only; ok lah. HAHAHA
