Content

Namdaemun, Seoul, South Korea

I was thinking about this blog and the content I post up here these days haha differs so much from the secondary school blogging days....so much!

Started thinking about how I would make mental notes in my head to record down funny stuff that happened to me during the day when I got back home - mostly training stuff, sometimes classroom stuff haha. And like the first thing I'd do when I got back home was to use the computer (to check for updates on my Korean boyfriends HAHA) and then blog. Hardly any studying lol but I think I used to do better at school than I am now haha

I wonder about now... if I didn't go on exchange, I probably wouldn't have started this blog again. And I wanted to blog primarily on exchange/Korea only but I ended up blogging about dragonboat stuff, shows, basically things that happen in my life apart from the more vibrant exchange life segment. I guess the content is still rather wanderlust, about traveling and places to go to overseas (given some Bangkok posts and the many exchange posts haha)

So then this leads me to exchange. I think it's one of the best decisions in my life even if I was exceedingly reluctant and unwilling to go. I applied for exchange on a whim, and the only place I'd want to go was South Korea haha so everywhere else wasn't on my mind. Can't believe my amazing luck given my dismal grades that I was able to go on exchange. But most of all, I'm glad the people around me pushed me to going - on exchange I made good friends that I still talk to/keep in contact with. Even if we don't meet or talk as much as we used to (well, during exchange we only had each other HAHA) I know i've made friends for life because we can always pick up where we left off the next time we meet! Haha. All the inside jokes we make etc, they remain lol

Maybe I should have made more international friends/maintained better friendships with the international friends I made (feels like hi-bye, that I'll never see them again :-/). But I don't regret forging such good friendships with other Singaporeans. Awwwwwwwww hahaha

(in other news I watched Divergent yesterday and homg I love it love the soundtrack too Ellie Goulding's voice is really really nice. I got the soft copy of the book already thanks to my lovely junior but maybe I should get hard copies for better reading enjoyment ahahahaha)

Reality Show: The Return of Superman

Been watching the Korean reality show The Return of Superman, and felt bad cos I abandoned my 아빠 어디가 Appa Odiga for this show hahaha (still stuck on Season 1 and I'm watching another kids show?! /unbecoming)

Anyway I think this show (still ongoing) is pretty good, rather different from Appa Odiga in terms of concept - individual family filming, there is hardly any interaction between the characters on the show apart from within families unlike Appa Odiga where the kids and their dads gather at a stipulated time once every few weeks to record some footage together. It's a lot more flexible in Superman.

In addition, the age range of the kids are from babies (7 months) to kids as old as 11 years old! So imagining an episode where all the characters on the show meet would be a bit hard... the age difference is too great haha. But nevertheless, it's enjoyable watching just the dads and the children interact with one another on a 1-to-1 basis unlike in Appa Odiga where such interaction is rather limited? It's really exclusive interaction in Superman.

I quite enjoy this show haha, started watching it after watching a video of Choo Sarang (one of the little girls in the show!! Super pretty) from the Choolovely family (what a cute name lol) on Facebook. I can't decide who I like right now, and there are parts I enjoy better than others in the show but overall, it's interesting, and I look forward to watching the show whilst multitasking with simple readings. Ha ha ha

Brunch at Airplane Cafe 비행기 카페

An interesting place to brunch at because it was a somewhat "themed" cafe haha

We went there on New Year's Eve! It was a one man show that day and the poor guy was soooo busy trying to settle all our orders (we were a group of 4) he had to painstakingly prepare every meal haha I guess the food was alright, it was pretty in photos hehe although the portions were slightly too small for my liking (big eater so hmmm) and since he was the only one preparing and serving, the food was mostly cold by the time it got to us! Nevertheless, it was an interesting brunch cafe concept to visit: eating airplane food and there were also "airplane booths" but they were tables facing a wall - probably meant for studying and all!

Click this naver link for more details and photos of the cafe!

Directions:
Line 2 (green line) Hapjeong Station, Exit 3

I would say this place is worth a go for the experience and novelty of it, but not for the food! :-) It's much nearer from Hapjeong Station although we walked from Hongdae instead - but the distance is relative, haha it was a nice morning so it was a nice stroll + the weather was pleasantly cold ah memories #happytimes #happydays #100happydays (ha ha just being annoying with the hashtags hahaha)

MR500

"Even though the seasons change, this feeling will remain the same."

Thank you for the wonderful weekend. I'm so proud of everyone - so proud to have come home to this, so proud to be a part of this. Blood is thicker than water but these girls, this team, they have become part of my blood.

Conjunctivitis

I have conjunctivitis. Hahaha.

Just gonna post big-ass photos of my face since no one really comes here hahahahaha

Bad eye infection that has been spreading around the team - this has to stop!!!!!! It's like the whole team is going to be victim to this disease, I hope it stops before this happens haha

(Photos taken over the weekend hahaha at the start of this madness)

So anyway, I've visited the doctor three times because of my swollen left eye, and today I got MC for skipping my tutorial (hey it's my only class on Thursdays anyway). The doctor assured me that it's getting better, just responding a little slowly to the medication. Da heck it is responding slowly, I think I've almost forgotten what my left eye normally looks like with a clear/white eye white (it's permanently red these days, not to mention TINY)

The prime of the madness - photo taken on Monday haha swollen like some fishball

Right. Got medication and I slept the whole of today lol it's some potent drug in there, the minute I take them, I fall asleep. I'm supposed to be doing my response paperrrrrrr determined to get an A. I have to get some As this semester. Sometimes I don't know what I'm doing with my uni life haha why are my grades so dismal it's like my academic gene stopped blossoming after secondary school or something. How disappointing.

But I think my response paper is shaping up well hehe

That said.......

This morning when I woke up for canoeing, I found a parcel for me on the table!! Hehe thank you Eatsee, and now I have a new wallet that no one is allowed to laugh at anymore cos it's so pretty (my old wallet was ok, a PURSE, and it was quite tattered and torn due to years of abuse and usage haha)

Haha had to add the sticker so my address is blocked hehe (although mail is always welcomed...)
